BACKGROUND
Brian D. Murphy is an associate of the firm based in the Washington, D.C. area. Mr. Murphy represents commercial mortgage and national institutional lenders in multifamily real estate transactions, with a focus on affordable housing. His practice centers on construction and permanent financing through the Freddie Mac TEL Program which utilizes tax-exempt bonds, low-income housing tax credits, Section 8 and other project-based rental assistance, state and local tax incentives, layered public and private funding sources, and ground lease structures. Mr. Murphy earned his B.A. degree from the College of William & Mary in 2013, where he was an intercollegiate swimmer, and his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2018. He is licensed to practice in California and Washington, D.C.
