Attorney / Alvin D. Wilken
BACKGROUND
Alvin D. Wilken is a shareholder of the firm in the Kansas City office. Mr. Wilken has practiced law as a municipal bond attorney since entering the law practice in 1970. During his legal career, his practice has concentrated in the traditional municipal finance areas of general obligation bonds, bonds payable from the revenues of publicly-owned utilities or facilities, bonds issued in connection with USDA Rural Development loan programs and transactions involving notes in anticipation of bonds or other revenues. He has experience in bond financings for cities, counties, school districts, rural water districts, nursing home districts, junior college districts and other special districts in Missouri. Mr. Wilken has spoken before local, regional and state-wide groups on the subject of municipal finance and the tax aspects of public finance. He is a member of the Missouri Bar Association. He received his B.S.E.E. degree (with distinction) from Purdue University in 1967 and his J.D. degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 1970.
