Webb R. Gilmore is a shareholder in the Kansas City office and is chairman of the firm. Mr. Gilmore has practiced law as a municipal bond attorney since entering the law practice in 1973. During his legal career, he has specialized in the area of tax-exempt bond financing for state and local governments, hospitals, colleges and other private institutions and has served as bond counsel and underwriter's counsel on a wide variety of tax-exempt financings. Mr. Gilmore is a former member and President of the Board of Curators of the University of Missouri System, a member of the University of Missouri-Kansas City Board of Trustees, a former member of the Missouri Lottery Commission, and a member of the Academy of Missouri Squires, an organization founded to honor 100 Missourians who have reached the highest level of accomplishment in their community, state or nation. He is also a former member of the Missouri Humanities Council and the Board of Directors of the Gillis Center for Children and Families and is a member of the Board of Directors of Kansas City Life Insurance Company. Mr. Gilmore is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, the National Association of Bond Lawyers, the Missouri Municipal League and the Missouri Municipal Attorneys Association. He was Note and Comment Editor of the Missouri Law Review. Prior to attending law school, he served as an officer in the U.S. Navy's Nuclear Submarine Force.
