Kim B. Wells is a shareholder of the firm in the Kansas City office. Mr. Wells has been active in the public finance practice since joining the firm in 1980, concentrating in the areas of housing, state agency and economic development financing. Mr. Wells entered the law practice in 1974 at Stinson, Mag & Fizzell in Kansas City, Missouri. From 1975 to 1976, he was a Legislative Assistant to U.S. Senator Robert Dole and Special Counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on Nutrition and Human Needs. He served as a speechwriter and Director of Research, Vice Presidential Unit, President Ford Committee in 1976 and Administrative Assistant to Senator Dole from 1977 to 1980, Deputy Director of the Human Resources Division of the President Reagan Transition Team in 1980, State Chairman of the Dole for Senate Committee from 1984 to 1991, a national Vice Chairman of Senator Dole's presidential campaign in 1987 and 1988, and Chairman of the Kansas Republican Party from 1991 to 1995. Mr. Wells is a member of the Missouri Bar Association and the National Association of Bond Lawyers.
