Erin A. Smykay is an associate of the firm in the Kansas City office. She has been practicing in the area of public finance since 2000. Prior to joining Gilmore & Bell in January 2004, Ms. Smykay was an associate in the public finance section of Vinson & Elkins LLP in Houston, Texas. She has experience in transactions involving traditional municipal general obligation bonds, revenue bonds and certificates of participation, tax-exempt leasing, neighborhood improvements district bonds and health care financings. Ms. Smykay is a member of the Missouri and Texas Bar Associations, the National Association of Bond Lawyers and the Association for Governmental Leasing and Finance. She served as Senior Articles Editor of the Houston Journal of International Law and was a member of the Order of the Barons and the Order of the Coif.
